Stoneholl Customer Local Time for Magento 2
See estimated customer time, the order store’s current time and an optional client-local order date in Magento 2 Admin. Country-only estimates with clear unavailable states.
Useful time context in the order view.
Add current customer and store time to Time Information, plus an optional Client Order Date below Magento 2’s native Order Date. Customer values are country-based estimates, not verified customer presence or a contact recommendation.
Two placements, four simple switches
Current customer and store clocks
Show either or both rows inside Time Information. Both clocks use the same server UTC instant at page load, in AM/PM format. They do not tick or poll. Turning both rows off hides the section.
Independent client order date
Display the creation instant in the estimated customer timezone below native Order Date. This switch works independently of Time Information and uses the zone rules at order creation. Native Order Date stays unchanged.
Address-country boundaries
Physical orders use only the shipping order-address country; virtual orders use billing. A customer estimate requires a valid country with exactly one installed PHP IANA timezone. DST and fractional offsets follow installed timezone rules.
An estimate, with no location guessing
An address does not confirm the customer’s current location or checkout browser timezone. Multi-zone countries, including the USA, remain unavailable; no capital city is guessed even if current offsets match. Missing physical shipping never falls back to billing. Unknown countries and invalid timestamps show Unavailable. A valid store clock remains independent; invalid or deleted store zones never fall back to the browser or another store. Historical country/zone membership is not reconstructed. Maintain the server PHP timezone database. Client Order Date is not processing, completion or fulfillment duration.
Offline and read-only
No external service, IP lookup, geolocation, browser capture, tracking, customer-profile query, persistence, schema, cron or order mutation is introduced. Only the order-address country is used for the estimate. Rendering requires both Magento_Sales::actions_view and Stoneholl_CustomerLocalTime::view; configuration permission is separate. Disabled or denied placements render no feature payload. Verify native current-order authorization before granting access to roles with third-party order restrictions. Free offline Core ^1.0 is required; Connector, pairing and paid entitlements are not required.
Choose the rows your team needs
Run composer require stoneholl/module-customer-local-time:^1.0. Enable Stoneholl_Core and Stoneholl_CustomerLocalTime, then follow your normal backup, Magento 2 upgrade, DI compilation, Admin static deployment and cache procedure. At Stores > Configuration > Stoneholl > Customer Local Time > General, Default Config scope only: Show Time Information defaults to No, Show Current Customer Time and Show Current Store Time default to Yes, and Show Client Order Date defaults to No. The two current-clock switches appear when Time Information is enabled.
Release validation and timezone rules
Release documentation records Magento Open Source 2.3.7-p4 / PHP 7.4.33 / MySQL 5.7.44 / tzdb 2022.1 and Magento Open Source 2.4.9 / PHP 8.5.9 / MariaDB 12.3.2 / tzdb 2026.3. Final UI/config revisions received focused runtime/template, DI, ACL, scope, escaping and switch-combination checks. PHP 8.0 has syntax/grammar coverage only. Other pairs, Adobe Commerce, third-party row-level restrictions and nonstandard Admin themes remain unverified. Custom templates without the native Order Date anchor need separate verification.
Good to know
Can Magento2 show the customer’s local time beside an order?
Customer Local Time adds a country-based estimate when the order address maps to one supported timezone. Multi-zone or unknown countries remain unavailable; this is not live location tracking.
Why is customer time unavailable for the USA?
The country has multiple IANA timezones. The module does not guess a region or capital city. A valid store clock can still appear.
Can I show Client Order Date without the current clocks?
Yes. Its switch is independent of Time Information and the two current-time row switches.
Does customer time update automatically?
No. Current clocks share the UTC instant captured at native page load. Reload the Magento 2 page to update them.
Does it tell me when it is safe to contact the customer?
No. No working hours, contact policy, safe-to-call status or automatic action is inferred from the estimate.
